Lina Williams Obituary
St. Lina Ann Barnett Williams was born on March 29, 1018, in York County, SC, to the
late Nettie Barnett, who passed when she was three. She was blessed to be raised by her
grandparents, the late Sis. Nancy and Bro. Bob Barnett. St. Williams slept away to be
with the Lord on Monday, October 14, 2024. St. Williams spent most of her childhood in
Charlotte, NC, where she became a member of the United House of Prayer for All People
at an early age.
She later moved to Washington, DC, Philadelphia, PA, and then to Brooklyn, NY. She
was married to her loving husband, Elder Henry Williams, for over 50 years and stayed
by his side, even at the hospital and nursing home. She and her husband were known in
the neighborhood for attending church. St. Williams volunteered at the Bedford
Stuyvesant Family Health Center for many years to serve the community in many
capacities, including introducing others to Christ. She served on the Senior Usher Board
in Brooklyn #2 for over 60 years. She faithfully attended services in her white usher
uniform and white usher shoes as she came through the doors with her tambourine in
hand. St. Williams was always ready to serve and give God praises. Her favorite hymn
was "Lift Him Up." God blessed St. Williams for her faithfulness to Him. She could
attest that she had no medical conditions that required maintenance medications.
St. Williams is preceded in love by her husband, Elder Henry Williams, her mother,
Nettie Barnett, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and all but one first cousin.
What a life well lived in peace and grace with the reward of going home to see her Lord!
