Felicita Morales Obituary
Felicita Morales was born on February 15th 1932 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was the 10th child of Petronila de Jesús and her husband Telesforo Pérez. Losing her father when she was young child, she finished formal schooling at the age of 12 and traveled to New York City alone at the age of 15. A few short years later an old neighbor and friend offered her a place to stay. Juan Morales had grown up down the street and knew the Perez family well. She took him up on the offer and the rest was history. Juan and Felicita were married on October 20th 1951 in Brooklyn, New York. They went on the have 7 children. Over the course of their 65 year marriage they witnessed the birth of 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. An impressive legacy.
Anyone who ever had the pleasure of being served a meal by her, will attest to her artistry in the kitchen. A kitchen, none of us was allowed into until we were old enough to be handed a knife. She never asked how are you? It was always are you hungry? You better than to say no.
Felicita was a devout Catholic and active member in her church community. She was an avid reader of scripture and enjoyed discussing the finer points of doctrine and faith. Her loss will be felt by all who had the privilege to know her. She was succeeded by her husband Juan, daughters Evelyn and Mildred and her son Carlos. She is survived by her children Irma, Sylvia, Nancy and Juan, along with 3 generations of grandchildren. May she rest in enteral and everlasting peace.
