Obituary of Darlene S. Dewey

Darlene (Hill) Dewey passed away peacefully in her apartment in Brooklyn NY on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Born in Corry PA, September 29,1959, she was the third child of Donna and Russell Hill. She and her brother, Daniel, were adopted by George and Mary Lou Perdue of Kennedy NY in 1961. 

Darlene graduated from Falconer High School in 1977. She achieved a degree in Paralegal Studies from Jamestown Business College in the 1980s. 

During her life, she served as a paralegal in various law offices in the state of New York, in the cities of Jamestown, Buffalo, and New York City. She enjoyed reading non-fiction, watching movies (especially war movies), and spending time with her beloved chihuahua, Bambi. She had a love for practicing and continually learning about NY State law in her profession as a paralegal. She dearly loved her family, coworkers, and friends, as well as her neighbors and the staff of her apartment complex, where she resided for almost a decade. 

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Donna and Russell Hill, foster father George Perdue, foster sister Tammy Perdue, and her foster brother Darryl Perdue. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Shanafelt (Daniel) and her three grandsons (Bryce, Chase, and Eli) of Red Hill PA, her brother Daniel Hill (Shelby) of Montreuil, France, her foster mother Mary Lou Perdue of Greenhurst NY, her foster brother David Perdue of Bemus Point NY, her foster sisters Kristina Godwin of Frewsburg NY and Kathy Headley of Junction City KS, and her nieces and nephews.
