Obituary of Marianne Donofrio

Marianne née (Dominijanni) Donofrio beloved wife of the late Anthony R. Donofrio. Loving Mother of Robert and James. Adoring Grandmother of Raquel, Anthony, James, Monique, and Gabrille.Cherished Great Grand Mother of Salvatore, Anthony, Anjolie, Robert ,and Angelina. Marianne came to the United States from Italy at the age of 4. She attended public schools in Brooklyn and later attended Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. She married the love her life at age 19. After staying home to raise her two cherished sons Robert and James, Marianne began her career as a secretary in 1975.  She was a very bright and talented person and grew professionally from a secretary to become a partner in a successful recruiting firm. She had a gift for seeing the potential in people and that became a hallmark of her professional life. She picked winners based on her understanding and sensitivity to human nature. She worked until she was 80 years old. In addition to her professional life, Marianne was an amazing cook. Everything she prepared was top chef quality. She even took a baking course offered to immigrants during one of her “retirement” periods. Her generosity to family and friends was extraordinary. How many pizze rustica and wheat pies she could turn out at Easter to distribute to family and friends. Marianne leaves her devoted family along with many cousins and friends.She will be missed and not forgotten.
