It is a great honor to share this tribute on behalf of my mother, Gladys, who predeceased her dear cousin and best friend, Aya, as she was affectionately called, by two years.
Aya and Gladys shared a bond that was forged in childhood, growing up under the same roof in Haiti. That bond only deepened when they migrated to the United States, driven by a shared dream of building a better life for their families. In those early years in America, the family all stayed close, living together under one roof. Even as time passed and they eventually established separate households for their growing families, the closeness between them never wavered.
For decades, they worked the same job side-by-side until mom’s retirement, strengthening a connection that distance could never touch. Not a single day went by without them talking on the phone, a comforting ritual that continued faithfully until dementia dimmed my mother's memory of dear Aya. Yet, the foundation of their friendship remained unshakable—anchored by a profound love for family and a deep reverence for the rich traditions of their heritage. I cannot recall a single function where I saw one without the other close by.
Because of this lifelong sisterhood, I grew up knowing Aya not just as my mother’s best friend, but truly as a second mother to me. Her warm and friendly smile was always welcoming and reassuring, leaving no doubt that you had entered her circle of love. That same love she so generously poured into her own children, who proudly represent her today with such honor, grace, and dignity.
Aya, just as you loved, so were you loved. Although your light was dimmed without notice, we thank you for the spark you ignited in the hearts of everyone whose lives you touched. We will carry that spark with us forever.
Sweet sleep, beloved Aya, until we meet again.
With everlasting condolences.

Aunty Agenise was one of the kindest people I have ever met.
I still remember being a medical student and staying with Wilnise and Stephanie’s family in Brooklyn for a weekend. At the time, I was simply a friend from medical school whom Aunty Agenise had only just met. Yet from the moment I arrived, she welcomed me with warmth, generosity, and love, making me feel as though I was part of the family.
As the years passed, I came to admire the strength, determination, and caring nature of Wilnise and Stephanie. Looking back, it is clear that these qualities were a reflection of the values that Aunty Agenise and Uncle Wildor instilled in their family. Their love, faith, courage, and generosity live on through their daughters and through the many lives they have touched.
Although not all of my family members had the opportunity to meet Aunty Agenise personally, they came to know her through the kindness and friendship of the Jasmine sisters. The warmth, compassion, and generosity they shared with our family were a beautiful reflection of the values that Aunty Agenise lived by and passed on to her children.
I feel truly blessed to have known Aunty Agenise. Her kindness left a lasting impression on me, and her memory will always be cherished.
With heartfelt sympathy and cherished memories from our entire family,

I remembered Jasmine as a co worker. We worked together and she was one of a worker who blended her residents well and always worked together with staff. She will be remembered for her warmth smile and the drops homes at night. I faced time her 3 days before this sad news and we laughed and talked about how things and times have changed working in the Nursing profession, only to hear she passed. This was very shocking but may her soul rest in peace and rise in glory. My people, forgive fast and embrace the love of life because no one knows the hour, time or day that we will depart this life. Get to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior! Serve him in Spirit and trust and we will see Jasmine again. Stay strong family!

I remember when I was younger on Christmas Eve Agenise Jasmine and her husband used to drive from New York to New Jersey to bring us Christmas gifts. And I remember some of the gifts that she had personally gave me, I remember the toy train I remember the Hess truck it was a famous truck during those times. I remember her good home cooking when Agenise Jasmine invited us during the holidays like Thanksgiving, or sometime we'll just go visit and stay for a day or two. I truly had good memories of her and I'm not just saying that she brought happiness to my life, her presence, her personality and character all around, it was good to be around her. I love you and some how I still feel your presence like you're not truly gone God bless your spirit and soul. I feel like I could have showed how much I appreciate you, words like these I should have been telling you from all these years ago. I'm going to always remember you. These words of Love and wisdom is coming from Borges Pasteur, I'm glad to had known and to know someone like you

One of my earliest memories was my 3rd birthday at her house. She was such a light in my life and my cousins, she will be dearly missed.
