**Obituary for Uland Mingulite Jones**
*November 28, 1929 – February 13, 2025*
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-
grandmother, sister, and friend, Uland Mingulite Jones, who peacefully went to Heaven on
February 13, 2025. Born in Trinidad, West Indies, on November 28, 1929, to Martin Rondon and
Rita Noray, Uland was a beacon of strength, love, and wisdom throughout her remarkable life.
Uland was the cherished matriarch of a large and loving family. She was one of six siblings,
leaving behind a legacy of love and unity among her three sisters and two brothers. She was
the devoted wife of the late Rennie Malcolm Jones, with whom she built a beautiful life and
raised nine children: Cecil, Frankie, June, Nickey, Pandy, Marcia, Eric, Erica, and Fidel. Her
legacy extends to countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-
grandchildren, all of whom she adored and inspired.
Affectionately known as "Mami", Uland was more than a mother—she was a teacher, mentor,
motivator, and spiritual guide. She was the foundation upon which her family stood, instilling in
her children the values of discipline, resilience, and faith. Mami was a true warrior, a "drill
sergeant"; when needed, but also a confidant and spokeswoman who always believed in her
children's potential. Her unwavering confidence in her family empowered them to overcome
challenges, and her lessons continue to resonate in their lives.
Mami’s influence extended beyond her home. She was a pillar of her community of Rose Hill,
and our Caribbean Queen who touched the lives of many with her wisdom, kindness, and
unwavering faith. She served as a spiritual leader, guiding her family and others through her
profound beliefs and compassionate demeanor. Her legacy of love, strength, and perseverance
will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the profound
impact she had on all of us. Mami’s memory will forever be a source of inspiration, and her spirit
will continue to guide us in everything we do.
Uland Mingulite Jones will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and strength will
remain alive in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, our
dear Mami, our Caribbean Queen. Until we meet again, you will forever be in our hearts and
minds.
*"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women
do noble things, but you surpass them all." – Proverbs 31:28-29*
With love and gratitude,
