WHAT ARE DIRECT CREMATION SERVICES AND HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?
A DIRECT CREMATION INCLUDES THE LOCAL TRANSFER OF THE REMAINS TO THE FUNERAL HOME, STAFF SERVICES, SECURING NECESSARY AUTHORIZATIONS, BASIC LOCAL TRANSFER TO THE CREMATORY, AN ALTERNATIVE CONTAINER FOR CREMATION, AND THE RETURN OF THE CREMAINS TO THE FUNERAL HOME – COST $895.
ADDITIONAL CHARGES MAY INCLUDE:
Crematories charge depending on location and family attendance. The cost may range from $895 and up. City Charges $15.00 per copy State Charges $10.00 per copy (A Casket of your choice may also be selected for an additional charge.)
WHY DO I NEED CERTIFIED DEATH TRANSCRIPTS?
Official Certified Death transcripts are required for any business transactions regarding the deceased. Banks, insurance companies, stock brokers and courts all require officially stamped certificates with raised seal. Additional copies may be reordered with a 6-8 week waiting period.
MAY WE HAVE A FUNERAL SERVICE WITH A CREMATION?
Yes. We have chapels available for services prior to the cremation with the remains present. This is commonly known as a traditional service. You may also have a service after the cremation, with or without the cremains present. This is commonly know as a memorial service. Additional charges for such services selected will be quoted.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS INVOLVED IN ARRANGING BROOKLYN DIRECT CREMATION SERVICES?
A simple call to our office is the first step. We will arrange to meet with you so that we can discuss your Brooklyn direct cremation options. At this time we will ask you for vital information regarding the deceased. We will also prepare all necessary authorization required for you to sign. During our meeting we can go over any further services or merchandise you may wish to select.
WHAT IS DONE WITH THE CREMAINS?
We will pick up the cremains from the crematory and bring them to the funeral home, returned in a plastic receptacle. You may select an urn if you wish. You may want to take them home and place them in a special place. You can even have them buried, or placed in a niche in a cemetery. Another option is Burial at sea.
*** Please note cremated remains should be picked at the funeral home as soon as possible. We are required by law to hold cremated remains 120 days from cremation. After this grace period, we are allowed to disposed of them at our expense, or charge a monthly storage fee until you are ready to pick them up.
HOW MUCH DO URNS COST?
Urns vary is shape, size, color, material and workmanship. They may range anywhere from $95.00 and up. Urns may be purchased at anytime.
